BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda on Tuesday said that the State has become byword for ‘lawlessness’ as in the JMM/Congress led government there has been an increase in Left Wing Extremism (LWE), criminal activities and corruption. Nadda was addressing BJP workers on the occasion of the online inauguration of BJP offices in eight districts of the State from New Delhi.
Nadda said, “Jharkhand is attached to my heart, but when I read newspaper about LWE activities, corruption, murder, extortion and other criminal activities in Jharkhand it brings me pain. We had successfully checked LWE activities in State as most of the Naxal and their sympathizers were driven out from State, but these
LWE activities are once again making their presence in State.”
The BJP president alleged that corruption has become an industry with rates fixed for transfers and good governance has ended in the state because the government is weak and careless.
Nadda claimed that BJP has built its offices in over 500 organizational districts and work is on in constructing 400 more offices. The eight districts which were gifted with BJP offices included Palamu, Lohardaga, Ramgarh, Dhanbad, Giridih, Simdega, Saraikela and Chaibasa. In Delhi apart from Nadda those who were present included BJP general secretary Arun Singh, Union tribal affairs minister Arjun Munda and Hazaribagh MP Jayant Sinha. In Jharkhand BJP office party’s organizational secretary Dhrampal Singh and Pradeep Verma were present, while BJP legislative party leader Babulal Marandi and State BJP president Deepak Prakash became the part of the function from their homes as they are home quarantined.
The BJP president on the occasion also highlighted the work carried out by party workers in lockdown. He said that BJP workers in Jharkhand provided meals to 12.74 lakh people during the coronavirus-induced lockdown, distributed 27 lakh ration kits, 31.13 lakh face covers and eight lakh litres of sanitisers.
He also spoke about the Modi government's relief measures and programmes for making India self-reliant, and asked party members to publicise them among the masses.
Senior BJP leader Babulal Marandi said that the BJP offices should have all information about districts. These BJP offices must fulfill the expectations of common people.
Also participating on the occasion, State BJP president Deepak Prakash said, “BJP focuses on around four Ks, Karyakarta, Karayakaram, Karyalaya and Kosh. By inaugurating new offices in eight districts we have tried to fulfill the expectations of BJP workers.” The online inauguration was available on BJP Facebook live through which around 77,000 people across the state viewed the function.
Meanwhile, reacting to BJP inauguration of eight offices, JMM general secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya said that these offices are reminiscent of loot during Raghubar Das government. Bhattacharya said, “The Raghubar Das government had used the block money during demonetization for purchasing land while loot money from State exchequer was used in construction of these offices.”
