Mystery shrouds the disappearance of a brick laden tractor trolley in Palamu’s Paton police station. This is the first of its kind episode when three people on a bike intercepted a tractor trolley loaded with 1200 to 1500 brick and decamped with it. The episode occurred last night.
Hiralal Ravi deputy superintendent of police said on Monday, “The brick laden tractor trolley was on way to Nawadah village under Paton police station around 7.30 at night when three people on a bike intercepted this vehicle and decamped with the tractor, trolley and its brick.”
The DSP conceded, “I have never come across such a loot of brick along with the tractor trolley so far in my career and this incident has come as a challenge to police here.” He said police would crack the case soon.
Arjun Gope officer in-charge of the Paton police station said the consignment of brick was to be unloaded at Nawadah village but it was lifted before reaching its destination. The brick were of Barsaita kiln belonging to one Pappu Tiwary of Redma in Daltonganj .Gope said, “It is again a mystery that the owner of the brick Pappu Tiwary is reluctant to lodge a written complaint of the theft of brick, tractor and trolley and is asking for some more time to find it out himself.”
Gope added further, “The three who first intercepted this brick laden tractor trolley took away with them the driver of the tractor trolley with brick. One of the three interceptors drove the tractor as its driver was made to sit on the bike with two other interceptors. The driver of the tractor was let off near Kundri jungle. It was the driver who informed Pappu Tiwary and then police could know of this incident.”
OC had also a point ‘ In this case brick transportation was done at night when the practice is that loading and unloading of brick is normally not done at night and hence the whole episode is shrouded in mystery’.
