A Bishrampur-based reporter Rameshwar Keshri was found hanging at the Community Health Centre in Bishrampur on Thursday informed Resident Editor of Rashtriya Navin Mail Amrender in Daltonganj. His body was not on the table but on its edge said police.
SP Palamu Indrajeet Mahatha said the crime scene has been videographed in the presence of a magistrate. A board of doctors will conduct the post mortem. Sniffer dog has been sent in to Bishrampur, he added.
Cause of Keshri’s death is not yet known. Amrender said Kesri was a cool and calm journalist and never had any disposition towards suicide. His body was found hanging with a cloth not rope and the colour of the cloth looked like one when people wear head scarf. Police did not say whether there was any suicidal note found on his body. The deceased had full length sleeve shirt and one pen intact in his pocket. Journalists believe here that Kesri would not have gone there to commit suicide with pen intact.
He had never any bout of depression said those who knew him. No version of the family of Kesri is available till the time of filing of this report. Journalists of Palamu
latehar and Garhwa are too shocked over this death of Kesri who was known for his clean reporting.
His resident editor Amrender said Kesri’s last report was on alleged irregularities in the schemes in Bishrampu Nagar Parishad. This report was a byline and was based on reply of RTI added Amrender.
