Following repeated threats from fanatic orgnisations on her mobile phone and on social media, Muslim Yoga teacher Rafia Naaz was on Tuesday finally provided two policemen by Ranchi Police, who will provide security to her round the clock. The action was taken after Chief Minister Raghubar Das took cognizance of the matter in this regard and directed Ranchi Police to look into the matter.
"Two police personnel have been deputed to provide security to Rafia, who was getting threats for teaching Yoga to the young students. They will be with Rafia round the clock whenever she goes out of her home," said SSP Kuldeep Dwivedi. The step was taken as some anti-social elements had been trying to create disturbances by stopping her to live her life her way, he added.
"The police is also trying to find out who are the people behind it so that she could be given a free and fair environment to lead her life in the way she wants to," said the SSP. "Rafia contacted us and put her problems before us following which proper security has been provided to her," he added.
After getting information about it, several police officials, including Hatia ASP, visited her residence in Doranda and took stock of the situation.
