Murdered DJ's dismembered head finally recovered

The head of disc jockey Alok Anand, who was killed and beheaded on Sunday night, was on Friday recovered by police from a well at the Jharkhand Armed Police I ground in Ranchi. Anand’s roommate was called for its identification.

“We have asked the family members of the deceased to come to Ranchi and get it after identifying it,” said officer in-charge of Doranda Police Station Fozal Ahmad.

Anand was allegedly killed by JAP jawan Hari Bahadur Gurung (30) and his friends after he visited Gurung’s wife at her home. According to the police, Anand was having an affair with Gurung’s wife for the past year and had been warned off by Gurung.

The body was found on Monday morning from a bush near the house. By Wednesday, the accused had been identified.

The assailants beheaded Alok, cut his fingers and then dumped the body. Marks all over the DJ’s body suggested he had been beaten black and blue before being hacked to death. Gurung is still at large and his brothers are also absconding.
