Sunil Pandey’s PIl over police-criminal-Naxal nexus, was listed for hearing in the Jharkhand High Court Ranchi, giving everyone a chance to say that Pandey was exterminated for his PIl as it would have damaged the image of police and civil officials said sources.
His PIl in the Jharkhand High Court Ranchi also claimed that civil and police officials were getting money from the criminals and naxals was murdered on December 8 last year in Palamu’s Basna at a hotel on NH 75 the day December 8
Sources further reminded that the day Pandey was shot dead in day light Palamu police had a big loss of life. From general public to some police officials all saw Pandey’s murder to be linked to his PIl in the Jharkhand High Court. National media too blew up this case out of proportion, making every one believe that Pandey was killed for his PIl.
Sources said no one believed Palamu police over the fact that Pandey’s murder was no off shoot of his PIl.
However after more than three months the Sunil Pandey’s case stands cracked said SP Palamu Patel Mayur Kanhaiyya lal.
SP Palamu putting the record straight said in his press briefing on Friday that Sunil Pandey’s murder had no distant connection with his PIl at all. Pandey did file it. The PIl was to be heard. And he was shot dead on December 8. It was all a coincidence said SP Patel Mayur.
On who got him killed as in the PIl Pandey had alleged a nexus of police criminal and naxxals and had even raised the bogey of insecurity of his life SP Palamu Patel Mayur said ‘ There were conspirators who hired professional shooters over a supari of 100,000 rupees to kill Pandey’.
About the conspirators SP Palamu said ‘ Police have nabbed the major conspirator Sheo Kumar Pandey a PDS dealer who had a bad blood with this Pandey as the deceased had got seized his PDS rice by police and the deceased had also filed a criminal case against Sheo Kumar Pandey’.
Patel Mayur further said other PDS dealers like Birju Yadav and Muneer Alam also joined in this conspiracy of Sheo Kumar Pandey.
About shooters SP Palamu Patel Mayur said ‘ There were five. Two Rakesh and Raj Kumar have caught and jailed this April 1. ‘ The ace shooter Areef Churifarsoh is already behind the bars ( not in this case but in some other criminal case). Patel Mayur said onw more conspiratorRajinder Paswan has been caught and jailed.
On motive behind this murder SP Palamu said ‘Sunil Pandey’s character and action proved his undoing. He was the one who used to implicate people in cases. He used to boss the villagers. His own married life was on the rock. He was the most hated face for the PDS dealers of the area’.
SP Palamu had a word of praise for his DSP Heera lal Ravi and his team of officials who cracked the case.
