Former Chief Minister and leader of Opposition State Assembly Arjun Munda on Monday derided the Hemant Soren led government for celebrating one year of negative development, bad governance, administrative inefficiency and rampant corruption in the State. Munda also termed the action as ridiculous and insulting for the State, while addressing media persons at the BJP office here on Monday.
The former CM said that in comparison to 2012-13 the government in 2013-14 has presented a negative picture and its helplessness before the people. “The government’s actions are not only causing temporary loss to the state but they are pushing Jharkhand towards long term losses. The government is looting the state in connivance with corrupt people,” Munda added.
Ridiculing the coalition he further said that the government was patting its back on its own and he believed that the people of the state were also evaluating the works of the government. “The government is neither able to discharge its constitutional duties nor it is sensitive towards development. There is an environment of lies. There are lies everywhere on which the government is praising itself,” he said.
Munda said that there was absolutely no work culture and no review of the development works in the incumbent government. It was just to present a rosy picture they are hovering over the skies on helicopters, he said adding that even transfer of senior IAS officers was not being done through proper procedure.
“The chief of the government had assured a domicile policy at the time of government formation. But the government is now confused about it and is also confusing the people. Giving few people appointment letters after completing a year is an eyewash. Where is the domicile policy he was talking aboutIJ Why there is so much delay in framing the policyIJ People are being cheated. This is simply cheating with the people just for cheap political gains,” Munda said.
Taking a dig at the Soren Government’s one year celebration on Sunday Munda said that the government has shown paper progress. “There is no work plan no discussion has taken place about the works and schemes. This is happening so haphazardly that there is increasing burden on the exchequer. Thousands of crores of funds are being lost from the Centre.
If they don’t get the funds those would lapse and in turn become a burden on the internal resources of the state,” he added. Munda also blamed the government for ignoring welfare schemes started by the BJP lead government. “Popular and people centric schemes like the lakshmi ladli Yojna, Dal Bhat Yojna, Kanyadan Yojana, BPl ration scheme have been put on backburner. Decentralization of panchayats has been stopped. Delivery mechanism is on hold, rights to rural bodies are not being given properly,” he said..
The Opposition leader also said that a BJP delegation will soon meet the Governor to apprise him of the situation and will request him to take cognizance of the anarchy prevailing in the state. “The BJP will launch a stir against the misrule. We would want the Governor to interfere else we will start a statewide agitation,” Munda added.
