The Community Health Centre (CHC) at Balumath in latehar district is in news for wrong reasons. It has medicines but the medicines carry MRP (maximum retail price) and with no mention of ‘Not For Sale’ which is against the norms.
latehar SDO Varun Ranjan detecting the lacuna inspected the health center. “I inspected the Balumath CHC and found these two things wrong there with the medicines. First strips blister packs and vials of this CHC had MRP printed on it. Again there was not the tag Not For Sale’. Both these are enough to fleece poor patients.”
It is learnt that in the stock of medicines, 38 of them were purchased under district committee and the vendor has done this foul. CHC at Chandwa was no better, added the SDO. Ranjan has vowed to bring this malpractice at these two CHCs to the notice of state rural health mission Ranchi.
