Maithon Power ltd (MPl), a 74:26 joint venture between Tata Power and Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), announced winning two cricket matches, organised by the local community around Maithon Power Plant. Tata Power always encouraged activities that build communities and interaction with local people.
The objective of participating in the local tournaments was MPl’s endeavour to continue and maintain community relation in guidance with MPl sports committee. Hence, MPl participated in sports activity in the local tournament, organised by local people. This year the tournament saw participation in three local cricket tournaments, out of which two were won by MPl.
Speaking on this initiative, K Chandrashekhar, CEO, Maithon Power ltd, said “The essence of community living lies in encouraging participation in local activities. The overall development of locals residing in and around MPls communities have shown much gusto in making this cricket tournament a great success. Through these programmes, local youth learn about team work, learn to showcase accountability in order to become confident individuals and build an empowered nation.”
