Hazaribag MP cum Chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance Jayant Sinha always strives to increase rail facilities in Hazaribag. It is a result of his efforts that various projects have come off the ground. He met Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and had a long discussion on the operation of long distance trains from Hazaribag and other railway works.

Sinha said to Minister that according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Indian Railways is not only a medium to connect distances but also an important medium to connect the country's culture, tourism and pilgrimage."You are trying to make his idea come true. The people of Hazaribag, my parliamentary constituency, were earlier dependent on road travel, but now they are also using rail services extensively. I would like to draw your attention to some important issues related to railway works in the parliamentary constituency," he said.

He said that the construction of the Ranchi-Barkakana rail route is going on.With its completion, not only will the journey from Ranchi to Barkakana be completed in 1 hour, but the distance of 60 km to Patna will also be reduced. Lakhs of people will benefit from this. This construction work should be completed before the onset of monsoon or else it will come to a halt. Its completion will greatly benefit the public.

Sinha said that Ranchi-Delhi Rajdhani Express used to travel via Barkakana Junction on Thursday and Sunday. Presently its route has been changed to Lohardaga-Tori.This train was the fastest way to travel from Hazaribag to Delhi.Thousands of people are facing inconvenience due to its closure. There is a dire need for its operation from Barkakana Junction.

He also said that people of Hazaribag parliamentary constituency have been waiting for long distance trains for years. In the year 2019, approval was given to the coach maintenance depot at Hazaribag Town railway station to be built at a cost of Rs 28 crore, but due to lack of funds, this work is stalled. "It is very important to start running trains from Hazaribag to Patna, Delhi and Kolkata. This will also boost employment including industry and tourism.Keeping in view the public interest, if you get its construction started again and take necessary steps after taking cognizance of the operation of long distance trains, then the people of the area will always be grateful to you," said Sinha..
