Palamu is being helped to become self-sufficient, at least in the production of medical oxygen. Sources said a couple of medical oxygen plants are coming up in the MMCH and now two community health centres of Palamu are also to be equipped with the medical oxygen plants.
Chatra BJP MP Sunil Kumar Singh has given Rs.90 lakh from his MP local area development fund for the setting up of two medical oxygen plants, one each at Panki community health centre and at Lesliganj community health centre now called Nilamber Pitamberpur, said sources.
Speaking to this correspondent, the MP said the medical oxygen plant to come up at Lesliganj will have additional facility of refilling of the cylinders as well.
The MP said this refilling of the medical oxygen facility will help tide over many of the hardships that come in the surge of Covid-19.
He said once these two medical oxygen plants get functional there will open new vistas for the upgradation of the community health centre at Lesliganj and at Panki.
