In an informal chat with Vice-Chancellor AN Ojha in the hall of the Circuit House on Saturday, the BJP MP asked the V-C to get the first Senate meeting done at the earliest.
He quipped, “After all when will it be heldIJ” The V-C apprised the MP of some bottlenecks to which VD Ram urged for an expeditious work on it. The MP was insisting hard for an early sitting of the Senate of this university. The V-C said efforts were put on place but there was delay definitely. However sources said it is in Ojha’s tenure that activity for Senate meeting has begun. His tenure as V-C has started this May only.
On the directive of the V-C the Registrar has set up nearly a dozen committees for the conduct of the Senate meeting. The registrar of the NPU Amar Singh said the university had no hall of its own since it functions from a rented building of Palamu Zila Parishad. Even for a Syndicate meeting the university has preferred the conference hall of the MK DAV school which can be used for the purpose of senate meeting.
