The Bokaro Thermal and Nawadih police on Thursday nabbed one member of a gang involved in several cases of motorcycle loot, mainly in and around the Bokaro Thermal and Nawadih limits. Identified as Manoj Nayak, the criminal was arrested from Buddgada area of Nawadih police station.
Police also recovered two looted motorcycles and 150 liters local made wine from the possession of the arrested duo.
The arrested Manoj Nayak son of Kedar Nayak has accepted his involvement around half dozen cases of motorcycles loot including two motorcycles bearing registration number JH 09-0920 and JH 09–8698.
Sources said that the specific information provided by Officer-in charge laxamikant of Bokaro Thermal police station, the operation carried out on Thursday morning was jointly led by laxamikant and B.P. Rout of Bokaro Thermal and Nawadih P.S.
Police sources said that the local police are also looking for more members of the gang whose names have listed up during his interrogation.
The vehicle lifters have no fear of the local police in the localities .They have made life hell for the residents of Bermo as well as Nawadih area. Surprisingly a few such cases have been witnessed in which the vehicle lifters had lifted from local market in the presence of the owners .The such case of motorbike lifting have been registered in two different police station of the district last six months .
A case has been registered with Nawadih police station under the relevant IPC.
