In a chilling incident a 34-year-old mother Asha Devi hacked her three daughters in a village in latehar district on Saturday night. The mother who also made an attempt to kill herself is now grappling with death at RIMS in Ranchi.
Her husband Sudama Singh a farmer has gone into hiding. The police of Manika block has recovered the blood stained axe used to kill the girls. The incident took place in Baree village that comes under Sinjo panchayat of Manika police station.
The officer in charge of Manika police station G Rabbani has confirmed the incident and said the three daughters are in the age group of 8 to14 years. Rina is the eldest one. The second to die was Seeta and third was Manisha. As all the three were asleep Asha walked up to them around mid night and killed them in just two attempts, said the police. All the three died on the spot and found in a pool of blood.
