Union Minister of State for Railways Suresh Angadi will visit Ranchi on July 14 to participate in Railway Safety Week. The week long programme will be organised by South Eastern Railway (SER) at Ranchi Divisional Office.
Senior Public Relation Officer, SER Suhas Lokhare informed that Angadi will take part in prize distribution programme and Chief Minister Raghubar Das, Chairman, Railway Board, VK Yadav along with other members of Railway Board and General Managers of various zones will present in the programme. “A cultural programme will also be organised on the occasion. Ranchi Division of SER has got first time the chance to organise the programme. A preparation work on war footage is going on to ensure success of the programme. The arrival of guest will start on July 13 to take part in the programme,” he added.
The exercise to form Ranchi Division Office as zonal office has been accelerated as General Manager; PS Mishra visited Ranchi on Thursday to meet Chief Secretary, DK Tiwari.
While talking to media persons after the meeting Mishra said that it is a formal meeting with Tiwari as it is our first meeting after becoming his Chief Secretary. “We have discussed in details about the ongoing projects and their timely completion. At present there is difficult to change timing of Rajdhani Express because between there are some route congestion between Dindayal Upadhyay Station to Delhi in very short span of time we will sort it out,” he added.
Speaking on the issue of much awaited Ranchi Zonal Office Mishra said that he can’t say on the issue because it is a matter of Railway Board.
SER has received Rs 2523.46 crore for the financial year 2019-20 which is 4.46 per cent higher than last year. There is Rs. 833. 50 crore provided for double line, Rs. 658 crore for change of rail tracks and Rs. 260 crore for road safety, road over bridge and road under bridge. Rs. 175.42 crore provided for passenger facilities and 130.70 crore for traffic facilities.
