While there is no perceptible trend in the rainfall of south west monsoon, Jharkhand is receiving less rainfall. According to the officials of Ranchi Meteorology Department the decrease is more prevalent in the north east part of the State.
“South West monsoon has been active over sub Himalayan, West Bengal and Sikkim and Subdued over Odisha, Jharkhand and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The Northern limit of Monsoon (NlM) continues to pass through Veraval, Surat, Nasik, Wasim, Damoh, and Sultanpur as a result of which rainfall occurred at isolated places over Jharkhand,” said Forecast Officer at IMD Ranchi U Shrivastav.
The maximum temperature is hovering around 32 degree Celsius and minimum around 24 degree Celsius and met officials predict for decrease in rainfall and increase in day temperature for next three to four days.
“As there is no sight of any system formation in Bay of Bengal for next 72 hours it is attributed that the temperature will rise within this time frame. However, on June 29, there are expectation of system formation which could bring about short spell of rain in the state capital and its adjoining areas. For now residents have to experience sweltering weather,” he added.
