Monitoring of MDM to start again in State

There will be a re-monitoring of the mid-day meal scheme in government schools of Jharkhand. Districts have been allotted to the officers of the Education Department regarding this. Its order was issued by Education Secretary K Ravi Kumar on October 21.

In the order, the Education Secretary has written that the Pradhan Mantri Poshan Shakti Nirman Yojana is a very ambitious scheme of the Government of India. Its continuous monitoring is necessary. Schools cannot be inspected/supervised for the last two years due to COVID-19.

Prior to Covid-19, the Mid-Day Meal Scheme has been jointly monitored/supervised with the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan. The operation of mid-day meal in schools has started from February 2022. There seems to be a need for re-monitoring.

The secretary has written that as before, jointly with the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, the district is allotted to the office bearers for inspection/supervision of the schools in front of their names.

It has been said in the order that the concerned officers will inspect and review the scheme related to the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan and the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Poshan Shakti Nirman Yojana in the course of the tour.

Friday and Saturday may be preferred for inspection days. Inspection work can be done in the month of November. In the course of inspection/supervision, the parents can be contacted and the decision regarding the implementation of the scheme can be obtained.
