On the eve of Teachers’ Day, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed millions of children across the country, students in the state capital also listened to his motivational speech. On the second occasion since last year when the PM interacted with few students via video conferencing a large number of other students keenly participated in the programme through their TV sets or Radio.
“Interaction with PM in such programme boosts our confidence. We gain knowledge about several topics which widen our understanding. The best part of this programme is the interactive session with the Prime Minister. We students get a chance to share our ideas and ask several questions from our PM. The entire concept of interaction is innovative”, said Palak Priya, a student of class X at DPS, Ranchi.
Children of classes VI – XII were able to witness the programme with the help of smartboards put up in various schools, while others at many government schools were listening and watching the programme on TV. Many schools in the state capital arranged all basic equipments for broadcasting the programme.
“In the present globalised world the youngsters have to face lots of challenges for which they need to be instructed and inspired in order to reach their potential growth and development. Students must follow the path of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and must be innovative in his/her approach,” mentioned Principal of DPS, Ranchi Dr Ram Singh.
“Proper arrangements were made in the school premises for the students to listen the inspirational and motivational speech of PM,” Singh further added.
PM Narendra Modi, in his speech, spoke about the importance of teachers in a student’s life. All teachers are known for their ability to devote themselves selflessly to educate children so that they can contribute substantially for the growth and development of the nation.
PM also expressed his grief that we don’t live in the era of Dr. S Radhakrishnan when the ‘Guru Shishya Parampara’ was at its zenith and now it is the duty of each and every individual to bring back that tradition.
“As our PM mentioned in his speech classroom give a sense of mission and priority to the every teacher like us. I also support his Idea of making separate toilet for girls in order to combat the dropout rate especially in rural areas. Education helps in nation building and every loophole in the education system must be checked,” said Priya Srivastava, a Science teacher of loreto Convent. PM further highlighted the importance of having a receptive mind to learn something new everyday.
Prime Minister address to students on Teachers’ Day last year too gained very positive response in the state capital. Over 18 lakh government and private schools from across country participated in the interactive programme.
