“The exhibition was organised by Bokaro Steel Plant (BSl) under the campaign ‘Abhiruchi,” said the official adding “it was inaugurated by ED (P&A) Atul Shrivastava”.

Under the Abhiruchi, our motto is to develop scientific reasoning and learning among the students of classes 6 to 10 is a laudable initiative of the Education department of BSl.

To incorporate the very concepts of learning science by doing and teaching its basic principles through fun and enjoyment is the purpose of the program, said the official.

“The children apart from developing a keen interest in Science would also be able to channelise their talent and creativity”, he added.

BSl roped in the District Science Centre, Purulia to help children learn Science by doing rather than by reading. This mobile van will be visiting all the BSl run schools for the next two months and will display a set of 24 specially designed interactive exhibits not only as an attempt to  cater to the curricular needs of the students but also to  arouse and nurture their curiosity and love for science.

Simultaneously the Science teachers would be arranging group based activities like debates, group discussions, quiz and projects for the children of the schools to enhance their understanding and scientific bent of mind. Students will be assessed as per their scientific bent of mind and clear understanding of the concepts and winners will be awarded.

The mobile van displays a number of concepts like the Acrobatic Stick, that would help the children understand the Pythagoras Theorem in an innovative way. Other exhibits like the Grand Shuttle will throw light on the magnetic effect of electricity.

The children would be able to refresh their minds too with exhibits like the Organ Pipe and others that would make the teaching of Science so much fun for the teachers.

Besides others GM (HRD, Education & CSR) B. Mukhopadhya, Principals Science teachers of various BSl run schools were present on this eve.
