On a tip-off that the jail inmates at Birsa Munda Central Jail have been using mobile phones inside the jail premises, Ranchi Police led by City SP in the wee hours of Thursday launched intensive search and recovered several mobile chargers and sharp objects like scissors and blades.
“On the basis of the reports that mobile phones were being used by the prisoners in Birsa Munda Central Jail, we raided the premises for over two and a half hour and have found several objectionable things including mobile chargers and sharp objects which are banned inside the jail premises,” said City SP Jaya Roy. No mobile phones however, chargers were found there, she added.
