MlA intervenes in water harvesting fine issue

Published on:

MlA Hazaribagh Sadar, Manish Jaiswal, has taken the issue of collecting the fine of non provision of water harvesting facility in the households of Hazaribagh town. He called the executive officers of Municipal Corporation and the officers of tax collecting agency, Ritika Agency, in his office and discussed on this issue.

During talks it became clear that in new Jharkhand Municipal Act there is a provision of fine for the householders having an area of more than 300 sq. mt. and not having any provision of rain water harvesting. The clause 11(1) to 11(4) is related with it. When he went through the clause it became clear that the municipal body will constitute a technical committee on whose recommendation fine can be imposed or relaxed.

When MlA Manish Jaiswal enquired the executive officer of local body said that no such technical committee has been constituted yet here. Taking it seriously he scolded the officers of tax collecting agency that they should act as per the provisions of the act and for taking fine you will have to consider clause 11(1) to 11(4) but here you are talking about only clause 11(4) which is wrong. It seems that for commission only you people are threatening the house owners and maligning the image of our party and government.

After this meeting the executive officer of Hazaribagh Municipal Council issued a letter to the tax collecting agency to not collect fine.
