Miscreants late on Monday night not only looted property worth lakhs but also murdered a 65-year-old woman in KusumVihar area under Saraidhela police station area. Victim Sheela Sinha happens to be widow of former BSNL engineer SNP Sinha and was living alone in one portion of the house. Her son stays in Bihar.
The incident came to fore only when some relative asked the tenant living in the other part of the building to trace the wellbeing of Sheela who was not picking the phone calls. The tenant when reached the spot saw doorocked from outside and when opened the door saw the tragic incident and called both police as well as her son and relative who had called the tenant. Hand tied body of the victim was recovered from the bed room which was plundered. Police are waiting for his son to reach Dhanbad to make an assessment of the theft.
However, it is believed that property worth lakhs were looted by miscreants. This happend to be second incident within Saraidhela police station area when elderly women have been targeted. Few days ago miscreants had snatched a gold chain worth Rs 2 lakh from neck of elderly woman residing in an apartment.
