Minister suspends Sahebganj engineer

Published on:

State Water Resources, Drinking Water and Sanitation Minister Chandra Prakash Choudhary suspended Sahebganj executive engineer Anil Prasad on grounds of irresponsible behaviour and absence from designated site.

Reasons cited for this suspension are taking apathy in implementation of assigned projects, irresponsible conduct and disinterest in departmental work, making unfulfilled assurances during departmental meeting, insubordination and absence from the assigned position.

Prasad was responsible for implementation of Centre-sponsored ‘Namami Gange’ project in Sahebganj and building toilets in schools and residences of rural areas under the Swachh Bharat initiative. But instead of carrying out the projects within the stipulated time period, he has taken an unauthorised leave from July 12 without informing the department headquarters.

His unwarranted absence, apart from hampering the implementation of these projects, has also left flood-prone villages without any security measures.

Orders regarding the suspension have been forwarded to the office of department Secretary. It has been instructed that Form ‘A’ should be filed against Prasad. In his absence, regional drinking water and sanitation Chief Engineer, Dumka has been handed over the responsibility of Sahebganj Executive Engineer for the department.
