Food, Civic Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Saryu Roy today met Governor Droupadi Murmu and discussed some of the important issues of the State including the Para teachers issue and Shah Brothers issues apart from the works being done under his department.

Speaking to media persons after the meeting Roy said that he apprised the Governor of the works being done under his department. He said that the issue on MSP for paddy was also discussed with the Governor.

“I also apprised her of my meeting with Chief Secretary and School Education Secretary. I think that we should start afresh leaving all prejudice and make a new beginning on the issue. Till now the talks were on official level. If a Cabinet level sub-committee is made and talks begin then we may get positive results,” he said.

“We can tell them about the financial burden of the State and the technical issues as well. They (para teachers) have been bearing for so long from the year 2000 to 2018 so they can also bear for a couple of more years. I told the governor that I am trying my best to get a Cabinet sub-committee formed on the issue. It will surely be sorted out,” added Roy.
