Mining officers wants media persons to file complaint of sand coal smuggling, illegal mining

Published on:

It may sound unusual but the Dhanbad based district mining officer(DMO) wants that media persons instead of flashing  news file complaints of on going illegal mining of minerals including sand and coal in the district with the department.

The issue  came to the fore  while a section of media persons wanted to know his view on storage of illegally mined sand from different rivers in the district  and action initiated by the department against illegally operated depots .

District mining officer Mihir Salakar first tried to evade the queries made by media persons but when asked repeatedly  lost his cool.

The DMO said ,"why don't you people file complaints in this regard with the department rather than questioning from me . Action would be taken only when you people file a written complaint in this regard."

It's worth mentioning that the department pat  it's back just by seizing those sand laden tractors that come on road during day time . Otherwise the on going illegal mining and storage  of both coal and sand goes on unabated  across the district.

The issue has now been also raised  before the minister-in- charge for Dhanbad Banna Gupta who assured to take up the issue with senior officials of the department .
