State Mines and Geology department secretary Arun, who held a review meeting on illegal East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum and Seraikela Kharsawan directed authorities to complete auction of the sand ghats within three days. During mining and sand mining meeting at conference hall of Chaibasa headquarter of Kolhan division in the presence of Deputy Commissioners of the three districts, he said that auctioning of sand mining will have to be completed in three days.
“We want to ensure fair process.80 percent of the proceedings from auction of sand mines will go to gram panchayat while 20 per cent will go to state government. The auctioning will be held under the gram panchayat board and bidders will have to get environment clearance before starting mining at the river ghats,” said Arun.
