Crossing all limits of brutality, a teacher along with the Principal of Moonam Public School in Chauparan sub-division of Hazaribagh, thrashed a class 3 student Altamas Khan and pushed him against the wall leading to severe head injury. Following the incident, 11 year boy had to go through four surgeries at different hospitals in Ranchi but no action has been taken against the teacher or the Principal so far.
Agriculture Minister Randhir Kumar Singh, while holding Janata Darbar at CM Secretariat in Ranchi, ordered SP Hazaribagh to look into the matter and get an FIR lodged against the School Principal and teacher immediately. The minister also talked to the Civil Surgeon of Hazaribagh, directing him to provide immediate relief to the family by making refund of the expenses on the treatment of the child.
According to Altamas’ mother Tahra Khatoon, Teaches thrashed him so badly for not maintaining silence in the class. “When the condition of the child deteriorated, the principal advised us to take Altamas to Dr Ehshan’s clinic in Hazaribagh who will take care of him properly. In spite of curing the child, the doctor misguided us saying that Altamas was suffering from fever and jaundice,” said the mother.
She further said that when they approached the local police station, they also refused to register a case against the teacher Shabnam Saba and Principal Vakil Ahmed. She also alleged Dr Ehshan of misguiding her by calling it a case of fever and jaundice in connivance with the school administration.
When the health of the child got deteriorated further she took Altamas to Ranchi and admitted him to Seva Sadan hospital where Dr HP Narayan operated him. Altamas who is currently admitted at Ranchi Children Hospital in Ranchi so far has undergone four operations on his head and stomach.
“I have asked the CS has to take immediate steps in this regard towards providing relief to the parents of the child so that this matter does not come here again at the Janta Darbar. The local police have also been asked to take action against the culprits after immediately lodging an FIR against them,” said the Minister.
The minister further said that in each of the case which was put into his notice he talked to the concerned official personally giving directions to them so that the matter gets disposed in the very first meeting. The complainants were also made to talk to the concerned officials, said the minister.
In addition to that several matters related to land and education was brought into the notice of the minister which he promised will be sorted out very soon.
