MGNREGA and Rajeev Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojna are dens of corruption. These schemes are defective since their inception that is why it has created factories of corruption at panchayat levels. It was stated by MP Yashwant Sinha at a Press conference held at Atal Bhavan, Hazaribagh, this evening.
After attending the meeting of district vigilance-cum monitoring committee Yashwant said that he is not satisfied with the progress reports submitted by different departments. He clearly said that the reports do not match with the ground reality and the district administration is far-far away from the fixed targets of MGNREGA, NRHM, RGGVY and Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan.
Yashwant placed the data provided to him by district administration before the newsmen. Pointing on the data of MGNREGA he showed that from April to June ’13, 33,000 demanded work out of which only 336 got it. In the district there are more than 1,82,000 job card holders and last fiscal year only about 2.000 got 100 days job.
In the meeting Yashwant and other peoples’ representatives were in furious mood and to counter check the reports of toilet construction a committee was formed to inspect and know the ground reality. MlA Mandu JP Patel, Barhi Umashankar Akela and Barkattha Amit Kumar were chosen members of this committee.
Both the MlAs of BJP also raised questions on the reports submitted by education and health departments. They clearly said that the officers are trying to mislead them but they know the ground reality. They blamed that these reports have been prepared on the basis of information given by contractors.
Yashwant Sinha categorically pointed on the progress report of Indira Awaas Yojna and Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna in which dismal progress has been shown and said that the quality of roads built under PMGSY is not satisfactory which is a result of negligence and ignorance of district administration.
Yashwant said that as per norms meeting of district vigilance cum monitoring committee should be organized quarterly but here after six months the meeting was called. He has directed the district administration to call the meeting of this committee after three months.
