The stink at MGM Medical College and Hospital will soon be a thing of past. In an endeavour to ensure cleanliness and better amenities at its premises, the Government hospital has appointed a new private agency for cleanliness and proper upkeep of the hospital from June 1.
Hospital superintendent S S Prasad confirmed the latest development and said that from June 1 a group of 49 cleaning staff will be engaged to ensure proper cleanliness of the Government healthcare unit.
“We have appointed a private agency through a tender process. We are hopeful that things will be better as far as cleanliness and upkeep of the hospital is concerned with the appointment of the agency,” said Prasad.
The superintendent said that the agency will pay `189 per day to each of the staff. The previous agency used to pay its workers comparatively less amount. “We hope, the new ageny will work more effectively,” he said.
