Chief Minister Hemant Soren has given his approval on the draft document for the scheme authorising committee to provide financial assistance to the poor meritorious girl students of the State after enrollment in technical educational institutions outside the State or in the State. This proposal has been prepared by the Higher, Technical Education and Skill Development Department. If the financial condition of the poor meritorious girl students of the state is not a hindrance in earning technical education outside the state or in the state, and additional financial assistance is given to the girl students getting technical education, then it will help the girl students of the State to get technical education. There will be a lot of encouragement in this direction.

Under the said scheme, it is proposed that AICTE recognized undergraduate / postgraduate level courses (in case of universities) of the first 100 institutions/universities with Overall NIRF Ranking declared by MHRD located outside the State or in the State are conducted in the main campus itself. If the girl students of the State are enrolled in the said course, every year the total annual fee fixed for that batch of the concerned course or Rs 1 lakh only (whichever is less) should be given as financial assistance. If this assistance is given to a maximum of 200 girl students per annum, about Rs. 2 crore is likely to be spent per annum.

Once selected, the student will be able to get this financial assistance continuously for the duration of her stipulated course, if she does not fail in any semester / year. Every year the girl students of the State are enrolled in AICTE recognized undergraduate / postgraduate level courses conducted in the main campus managed by reputed institutions / universities located outside the State or under the control of the Government of India or run in reputed government institutions of other states. The total annual fee fixed for that batch of the concerned course or Rs 50,000 only (whichever is less) should be given as financial assistance. If this assistance is given to a maximum of 100 girl students per annum, about Rs. 50 lakh per annum is likely to be spent.

Once selected, the student will be able to get this financial assistance continuously for the duration of her stipulated course, if she does not fail in any semester year. Under the above proposal, in the event of equality in the selection of eligible girl students for financial assistance, the priority will be based on the better JEE Main ranking of the girl student, the qualifying exam score of the girl student and the girl who is older, respectively.

In case of enrollment in technical educational institutions under the department, Rs. 10,000 per year for diploma course and Rs. 20,000 per year for degree engineering course should be given to the girls of the state. A total of Rs 2.50 crore is likely to be spent every year on providing this assistance to a maximum of 1500 girl students for diploma and maximum 500 girl students for degree engineering course. Once selected, the student will be able to get this financial assistance continuously for the duration of her stipulated course, if she does not fail in any semester / year.
