ESL Steel Limited, a Vedanta Group Company organized Fire Service Week Celebration, which included a Mega Mock Drill on a fire scenario which was conducted at the Power Plant in the plant premises. Approximately 76 personnel took part in the event which was followed by a sensitization training on the fundamentals of fire and awareness regarding different types of fire extinguishers. In addition, pamphlets on the Do's and Don'ts of various types of fires and their extinguishing media were distributed to the public.
This Mock exercise was successfully carried out in the presence of R.K. Tiwari, Fire Officer, Chas (Jharkhand Fire Services), K Sandeep, Chief Safety Officer of ESL, and Nitesh Kumar Nirala, SBU Director Iron & Power cum Incident Controller. The main goal of the operation was to raise awareness among employees and workers, as well as to assess the readiness of the Emergency Support Function and First Responders to handle an emergency and the health of emergency hardware.
