District Election Officer Vinay Kumar Choubey held a meeting with the Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) on Monday. In the meeting Choubey instructed AEROs to commence the distribution of Voter slips.
For first phase of election in Jharkhand which is schedule on April 10, the slips for Mandar region will be issued on from April 3-5 while for Ranchi Parliamentary constituency the slip will be made available from April 4- 7.
All the AEROs have been instructed to conduct meeting with the Booth level Officers (BlOs) and discuss a detail plan regarding the same on Tuesday. He has also asked to inform the block officials to conduct voters verification based on the number of BlOs. Citing the example he further added that if a block has two BlOs then will verify 50 per cent voters, if the number is three then 33 per cent and so on. Moreover, the BlOs have been asked to make door to door visit to provide the slip to the voters.
Meanwhile, Choubey has asked to conduct survey at polling booths to check the basic facilities including ramps for physically challenged voters, drinking water and sanitation facility, parking space and shed.
Moreover, has also asked to make elaborate preparation at the booths for police officers on duty near polling stations.There will be as many as 207 model booths which will be having waiting hall and token system for casting vote. The BlOs will welcome the voters by presenting flower.
