The medicinal plant Tulsi is now a hot favorite of the Muslim families in Palamu in the pandemic.

Now these families are sparing a corner of the backyard of the house for Tulsi to grow. Sources said Tulsi is easy to grow even with a few kilograms of good nutrients ridden soil.

Sources said a cup of Tulsi tea is preferred a day. Sources said before the onset of the Coronavirus this community looked indifferent to the benefits of the Tulsi leaves.

A girl Farzana said earlier we had this conception that leaves of Tulsi had had some kind of religiosity but when as she said people began to look for it she felt she could fall upon Tulsi leaves for her health.

When the ICMR went on telling people to use this herb in the pandemic that this community began to have it.

A senior lawyer Hussain Waris of Nawa Toli in Daltonganj said he and his family has been using Tulsi since long and in this pandemic our neighbors come to his compound and pluck leaves of Tulsi.

He said he feels happy to see this change of attitude towards this plant. D S Srivastava, a noted Nature reader said in the pandemic more and more people inquire from him about lemon grass.  Srivastava said he is telling one and all to raise lemon grass on any space of the house as this grass is too valuable in boosting the immunity.

Sale of leafy saag have gone up. A house wife Deepika Singh said her family now insists for saag sandwiches instead of butter or potatoes between the slices of bread.
