The carelessness of medical staff at a nursing home at Hazaribagh allegedly put two lives in danger on Monday. The unfortunate incident took place at the nursing home of Dr AP Singh, a senior orthopedic surgeon of the city.
According to the relatives of the affected patients, they arranged blood after the doctor advised blood transfusion for the patients, which was then transfused wrongly to other patients. The patient requiring B+ blood was given A+ blood which was meant for the other patient, and vice-versa.
The patients were referred to Ranchi after their conditions deteriorated.
The relatives and friends of the two patients protested against the doctor and also damaged the nursing home. The situation was controlled after police interfered. All the while, it remains unknown whose negligence led to the disastrous outcome.
