The day-long free medical camp was organised —under the joint aegis of Maa Sarde Sewa Sadan and an NGO Nai Pahal, Swang — in extremist-infested Narki village (Gurukul Public School) of Gomia block proved to be a great help to the villagers.
The villagers availed the free medical camp. They were treated particularly for malaria. About 156 people, mostly belonging to the tribal community, including women and children, attended the health camp organised at Gurukul public school, Narki here on Friday and availed free medical check-up and treatment by a team of expert doctors, all from the Gomia block.
Dr MN Mahto, who attended the camp, while talking to The Pioneer, admitted that the condition of the Government-run PHCs, block hospitals and district hospitals have only deteriorating in course of time throughout the district, according to him is certainly not an exception to it. Huge turnout of patients at the camp organised at a very short notice itself suggests the prevailing situation.
The beneficiaries express happiness over the holding of free medical camp in rural areas which are deprived of medical facilities available in cities and suburbs.
