Ranchi Municipal Commissioner (RMC) Mayor Dr Asha Lakra reviewed the cleanliness of the city in view of the Chhattha Puja, keeping in view the depth of the ponds and reservoirs, barricades will be done by putting bamboo-balls and red ribbons from the point of view of security.
Lakra said that from Dusshera to Mahaparv Chhath, the sweepers should do the cleaning work under the timeline. For example, the cleanliness workers, who start cleaning work from 7 in the morning; they should do the cleaning work by 2 pm under the timeline.
The Mayor said that the concerned officers should monitor the work of the sweepers. Action should be taken against the sweepers who are returning home after finishing their work before time, she added.
In the meeting, while giving instructions to the officials of the Health Branch, The Mayor also said that M/s Vadjan Infratech Private Limited, the agency doing the cleaning work of the city, is not doing any work. She said that at present, the work of installing smart dustbins is being done by the agency. It has been said from M/s Vadjan that work will be started from October 15. The Mayor said that if the work is not started by M/s Vadjan till October 15, then a show cause notice will be issued to them. “After this the agency will be blacklisted. Regarding the cleanliness system of 53 wards, after lifting the pile of garbage lying on the roadside, get a broom at the concerned place so that the dirt is not seen there,” she added.
“Similarly, prepare a list of apartments located in urban areas and pick up the garbage at regular intervals so that the situation of dumping garbage in the apartments is not created. The monitoring of cleanliness will be started from Saturday,” said Lakra. She added that water tanks will be made in the ponds and reservoirs identified for performing Chhath Puja. She said that the cleaning workers of M/s CDC should also clean the inner areas of the ward with a broom. The Basti located in Ward-53, Kusai-Ghaghra located in Namkum, under the old over bridge, the new Basti located at Pandara-Hehal and the wide Basti located in Ward-1 are littered with garbage should be clean as earlier as possible, she added.
