Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has set up 1385 examination centres across the State for the annual board examinations slated from February 16. Around 941 centres have been demarcated for Matric examination while 444 centres in different districts have been identified for Intermediate examination.
This year, as many as 4.66 lakh students will take Matric examination. Similarly, 3.27 lakh students will appear in the intermediate examination from all the 24 districts. The board examinations that will continue till March first week will be organized under the strict vigilance of the officials deputed by JAC for various purposes.
While conducting a meeting with all the District education officers (DEOs) of the State, School Education and literacy Secretary Aradhana Patnaik along with JAC Chairperson, Arvind Singh on Saturday asked the officials to organize the board examinations in a vigilant and unbiased way and issued them a proper guideline.
“Both Matric and Intermediate exams will start on February 16. On March 2, Matric exam will be concluded while on March 7, intermediate exam will get over. Besides ensuring basic arrangements, this year regular teachers only have been appointed as the invigilators for both the board examinations at all the examination centers,” said the JAC Chairperson.
“This year, no invigilators on duty will be allowed to keep electronic gadgets with them. Besides, seat plans must be checked on daily basis by the invigilators. Two checking points (at main entrance and outside the allotted class) have been made to maintain discipline alongside preventing malicious activities,” added Singh.
The Secretary, during the meeting, also asked the examination conducting body to bear the cost of additional furniture and other essential stuffs. In addition, all question papers and other important documents must be kept in treasury only, instructed the Secretary. In case, if there is no provision for treasury in the specified locations, then all the questions papers must be kept at banks for safety.
