A Haidernagar based civil outfit Lok Jan Chetna Manch has threatened to launch a massive stir for five more stoppages of the much in demand Sasaram Ranchi intercity express train. The stoppages are railway stations at Haidernagar, Mohammadganj , Untari road ( in Jharkhand state) and Nabinagar and Ankhouhra (Bihar).
President of Lok Jan Chetna Manch ( LJCM) Premtosh Singh said there was a day long dharna outside the Haidernagar railway station on Oct 28 for making this intercity express train stopped at 5 more railway stations in the larger interests of the passengers and the railway department. Singh said there would be a massive stir for these 5 stoppages if the railways dared to ignore our demands.
Singh said these five railway stations have their own value like Haidernagar where is a religious tourism site of Devi Dham Shakti Peeth apart from which the archeological survey of India is doing excavation at Kabra Kalan village only 10 Kms away from the Haidernagar railway station where come hordes of people to see the remnants of Buddhism. Nabinagar and Ankhouhra railway stations are NTPC hubs and as such our demand to give stoppages of this train here is very justified and legitimate, he said. Singh said as regards stoppages at Mohammadganj & Untari road railway stations these locations too are high passenger value places which will add to the revenue of the railways. He agreed that these demanded 5 new stoppages would mean 10 minutes more for this intercity express train of 2 minute halt at each of the 5 railway stations.
Singh said a petition to this effect addressed to DRM Moghulsarai has been handed over to station superintendent of Haidernagar railway station for its needful.This Manch has demanded under pass and log hours of reservation counter to remain open at Haidernagar railway station.
A K Tiwary a railway official at Daltonganj said this is the public demand and hence only senior officials can give opinion but it is also a fact that more new stoppages of this intercity express train for Ranchi will mean late arrival there and that will come as no benefit to passengers of this train as the motive and purpose behind this train was to enable passengers to reach Ranchi by around 10 in the day to get their offices works, jobs, trading etc all done in day time to board this train there in Ranchi the same day in the evening.
Palamu MP V D Ram who played major role in getting this train run here said demands for more stoppages are coming right from day in September when this train rolled down.
