BJP Legislature Party Leader cum former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi has written to DGP Ajay Kumar Singh regarding arrest of the accused in Jamua police station case number 101/2023 and taking strict action against him.

He wrote, “I am sending the application received from the applicant Lalita Kumari, age-23 years, father-Mahendra Singh, Police Station-Korran, District-Hazaribagh by attaching it with this letter, which may kindly be observed.”

The BJP leader stated that the applicant has accused Atiq Iqbal (alias Tinku), father-Badruddin Alam, of having physical relations and mentally torturing her for eight consecutive months on the pretext of marrying her while hiding her religion. The applicant was working as a nurse at Medinova Health Care Hospital, Jamua where she met a person named Ateeq Iqbal who was working in the same hospital. In this sequence, both of them came to know each other and Atiq Iqbal, taking advantage of the acquaintance, started having a physical relationship with Lalita Kumari by giving her the greed of marriage while hiding her religion. After some time, when the applicant became pregnant, Atik Iqbal called the applicant Lalita Kumari to force her to have an abortion and also threatened to make the video of physical relationship viral. Even after registering a case in this regard by the applicant, the culprit has not been arrested yet.

He further stated that therefore, in the light of the application, the concerned Superintendent of Police should be ordered to arrest the accused Atiq Iqbal in the said case and strict action should be taken against the culprit so that such incident does not recur and the applicant can get justice.
