Condemning the Maoist attack on former MLA Gurucharan Nayak on Tuesday last, former Chief Minister and BJP legislative party leader Babulal Marandi took a jibe at the State Government. Marandi who visited the incident site Sonua/Goilkera on Wednesday, today addressed media persons in State targeting the JMM/Congress government for spurt in LWE menace.
Marandi said that the present government is either giving protection to the militants or is scared of the militants. There is a terrible situation in the state, the police are also scared.
Marandi said, “The present government is being run by goons, mafia and extremists. There is no law and order situation in the State. Policing in the state has collapsed as the police administration is engaged in extorting money from traders/businessmen.”
Marandi said that the incident site at Sonua/Goilkera is located 1.5 km from the ancestral residence of former MLA Gurucharan Nayak and 2 km from the main road. The police were not alert despite prior intelligence. In the incident, two bodyguards were brutally murdered.
The former MLA had to run for his life. But the sad part is that the police reached after 15 hours to collect the dead body of its own jawans. “This makes it clear that a parallel government of militants is running in the state. The police are scared,” added Marandi.
Marandi said that he was stopped from visiting Sonua, the police had stopped him for hours at Chakradharpur citing security.
The police are not able to provide security even in broad daylight. Militants are roaming the streets in broad daylight. People are being killed continuously. BJP leader also targeted State Government for brutal lynching of Sanju Pradhan in Simdega.
On the other hand, Marandi also condemned security lapses on the Prime Minister convoy in Punjab on Wednesday. Calling it unfortunate as well as shameful, Marandi said, "No matter how much we condemn it, it is less."
On Wednesday PM Modi was forced to skip his Ferozepur rally as his security was compromised after arriving in the state. His convoy was stuck for 15-20 minutes due to a road blockade in the state. He said that not only the Punjab government but the Congress party is also involved in this incident.
He said that the situation was being created by the Congress which is an attempt to kill democracy. The country is being pushed towards the opposite mindset. Political battle should be fought among the people with the cooperation of the people such violence is not permitted in democratic set up.
