He cannot walk without crutches, but has been going around Government offices for a year now. louis Martin Minz, a physically handicapped man from Gadgi village in Mandar, has been waiting for a tricycle from Government but in vain.

“Coming to know of the scheme, I applied for a tricycle almost a year ago, but was turned back every time I went to collect it. Government processes take time is what I was told,” Minz said.

Fed up with the apathy and delays, Minz came with his grievances to CM Janta Darbar this Wednesday before Social Welfare Minister louis Marandi who assured him of swift action. In a telephonic conversation with Mandar CDPO, Marandi issued instructions to provide a tricycle to Minz without

further delays.

In the Janta Darbar, Marandi listened to the problems of 101 plaintiffs, which ranged from land disputes to medical aids. One Bhola Prasad came to the public court with pleas to find his missing son, Ajay Kumar.

Ajay, who was appointed as a peon in Jharkhand State Assembly in 2006, has been missing since December 2 after he left for his office in Dhurwa. His family members tried to contact him, but his mobile phone was switched off.

“Ajay’s bank account has been emptied. He had taken some loan from one of his colleague. For the past few days, he used to be stressed about paying back the loan. His colleague must have withdrawn the money as payment against the debt,” Prasad said.

A case has been filed in this regard at Jagannathpur police station, after which Ajay’s parents met Additional Secretary of State Assembly and Hatia ASP after that. But he could not be found. Coming to know of the incident Marandi instructed City SP Jaya Roy to look into the matter and find Ajay as soon as possible.

A delegation from Chapka in Gumla came to the Darbar with reports of grave irregularities in Energy Department. led by Mahesh Bhagat, the group of plaintiffs complained of bills being sent to them despite the transformer in their village being dysfunctional for the past five years. The bills are accompanied by warnings that non-payment of bills will result in legal action.

Marandi called up Energy Secretary SKG Rahate to tell him about the problem and asked him to take definitive action for providing relief to the villagers.
