Marandi cautions Soren over 'scam' in Excise Dept

Former Chief Minister and BJP Legislature Party leader Babulal Marandi has alleged loss of revenue of Rs 450 crore to the state due to the liquor scam. Addressing media persons at the party office on Thursday, Marandi alleged that it seems that the government in the state is made for corruption as no department is left without corruption. Marandi claimed that he had repeatedly warned Chief Minister Hemant Soren about the possibility of liquor scam in the past. Even after this the CM does not care. So they should remember that if they do not stop the disturbances, then one day they too will have to face the price. The officers here conspired to get the favorite companies included in the liquor tender and get the work done.

Marandi alleged that a tender of liquor was given to favourite company and it was said that this would generate an income of Rs 2300 crores to the state. But, instead, it was found that the state had incurred a loss of Rs 450 crores. State spokesperson Saroj Singh Singh and others were also present in the press conference.

Marandi has warned CM Soren against those government officials who are misleading the government in the formulation of excise policy and paving the path for the addition of the name of CM in another scam.

Marandi claimed that last year on April 18, April 19 and December 9, he wrote letters to the CM alerting him about the liquor tender scam. Four companies like A to Z Infra Services SEZ Ltd, Prime One WorkForce Pvt Ltd, Sumi Sut Facilities Ltd and Ingle Hunter Solutions Ltd were tried to give benefits in the tender. He got the job too. But despite warning several times, neither action was taken against the officers, nor did the CM take cognizance. When the ED raided Chhattisgarh a few days back the secretary and commissioner of the Jharkhand government got the notice, then the reality came to the fore. On the one hand, the government has given notice to the concerned agencies to recover Rs 450 crore and on the other hand work is also taken up. According to law, the people who gave wrong advice to the government should have been aware of that. CM also did not pay attention, which also shows his involvement.

When the investigating agencies (ED) call the CM for questioning in some cases, he starts crying about himself being a tribal CM. The people have chosen and sent him for this work. The party has made the leader of the legislative party.
