Marandi attacks Govt on ‘poor’ law and order

Published on:

Former Chief Minister and BJP legislative party leader Babulal Marandi on Monday charged the State government of ignoring the deteriorating law and order situation of the State. He went on to say that the ministers of the State are hand- in- glove with Maoists and hold meetings with them during night hours.

Talking to media persons here on Monday, Marandi alleged that the law and order situation has deteriorated and has reached the same level that was prior to November 15/2000.

“The ministers of state are hand- in gloves with Maoists and they hold meetings during night hours. Police have lost their morale and senior officers rather than tackling the deteriorating law and order situation threaten to break the legs of complainants”, said the leader.

Crime against women is on rise and the Maoist activities have increased in Jharkhand since the coalition Government took over. Those Maoists, who had left Jharkhand due to police operations during the BJP government rule have come back, claimed Marandi.

“Most unfortunate matter is that the Home department is with the chief minister and the situation of law and order is falling day by day. At the same time the government has blocked the funds required for development,” said Marandi.

On Jharkhand - DVC tussle over dues he said, “Even if dues are pending since long the present government must have talks with the corporation for instalment based payments and could have maintained the instalment payments.”

Addressing the ST/SC Morcha meeting at Nirsa  Marandi said, the people belonging to the ST/SC communities are not being given their due. If BJP forms government he would see that all due advantages be given to the members of the

communities.

Dhanbad MP PN Singh, MLA Raj Sinha besides a host of senior members of party was present during the press conference.

Meanwhile, coalition partners in the government Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Congress reacted sharply to the statement of Marandi and said that such a futile statement is not expected from a person like Marandi.

JMM General Secretary and Spokesperson, Vinod Pandey said that Marandi held the post of Chief Minister of the State for almost two year and he should help the Government if he has any evidence on the issue but only talking and levelling baseless allegations are not expected from a person like him. JMM is completely denying from such allegations and criticizes Marandi for levelling such kinds of allegations without any evidence.

Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) Spokesperson, Alok Dubey also echoed a similar view and said that if Marandi has any evidence then he should come forward with it. Only levelling baseless allegations for media attention is not expected from leaders like him, he added.
