Marandi accuses Govt of insulting Constitutional bodies

The State BJP has accused the coalition government in State of insulting constitutional machinery in State. BJP legislative party leader, Babulal Marandi targeting the state government on Friday said that the present government has no respect for even Constitutional bodies. Raising Sahibganj police officer Roopa Tirkey murder case, the BJP leader said that a fortnight back court has issued an order to lodge a case against Chief Minister’s MLA representative Pankaj Mishra and DSP Pramod Mishra in the SC/ST police station, but the government has failed to register the case.

Marandi said that the tribal community had formed the government in the state with great hope. But this government is neglecting and humiliating the tribals of the state. The government had earlier denied the CBI death of Roopa Tirkey. After this, the government is not even taking action against those who humiliated this deceased tribal girl by using abusive words about her.

On November 26, the court of SC-ST Special Judge Manish Ranjan has registered an FIR against JMM leader cum CM's MLA representative Pankaj Mishra and Sahibganj DSP Pramod Kumar Mishra for making the audio and later making it viral after the death of Sahibganj's lady police officer Roopa Tirkey. He also described the present government as anti-tribal. He said that tribals are being humiliated in the state. Tribals of the state are feeling neglected, a living example of this can be understood from the case of the death of women police station in-charge in Sahibganj, Roopa Tirkey. He said that despite the order of the High Court, the FIR has not yet been done, they are all roaming freely. It is also an insult to the tribals and contempt of court by the government.

The Jharkhand high court (HC) in September ordered a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the death of Sahibganj police officer Rupa Tirkey.

Tirkey, 26, who was officer in-charge of Sahibganj women’s police station, was found hanging at her official residence on May 3. According to state police investigation, Tirkey’s friend and colleague, sub-inspector Shiv Kumar Kanaujia, allegedly harassed her, which led to her suicide. Kanaujia was subsequently arrested in the case.  However, Tirkey’s father Devanand Oraon alleged his daughter was murdered. In June, he filed a petition in the HC for a CBI probe. He alleged his daughter was harassed by some colleagues at the instance of Pankaj Mishra, assembly representative of chief minister, and another person named Dahu Yadav.

At the same time, leader of the Legislature Party, Babulal Marandi also questioned the lack of action against Deoghar DC despite the order of action by the Election Commission. He said that the government is continuously insulting the constitutional institutions. Despite the order against Deoghar DC Manjunath Bhajantri, the lack of action so far indicates the intention of the government.
