Maoists' PlG week begins in Palamu

The PlG ( peoples’ liberation guerrilla) week of the CPI Maoists is on here in Palamu from December 2 which will last till December 8 said sources close to the Maoists.

An annual feature, the Maoists in the PlG week do two things. One is remembrance of the comrades killed by the security forces. The second is a vow of revenge.

Confirming the start of PlG week the SP palamu N K Singh said the police are in total readiness to fight any aberration of the naxals.

Police are alert and there will be no off guard at any point of time. Every cop is to be on alert as there will not be any venture by any cop alone or at place fraught with risk of land mine or ambush but every movement with a preparedness he reminded.

The naxals’ attack on Sahebganj Danapur intercity express train in Bihar has alrmed the police and railway protection force much said sources. Palamu has a nasty track record of naxals attacking trains here. From 1991 to 1998 there came a dozen such attacks on trains where cops and their weapons were lost to the naxals.

SP Palamu informed that the district police and the RPF are out to maintain peace as railway stations, platforms and tracks all fall in the district and are public places ( except tracks of the railways) and their security aspect is to be well taken care of.

The PlG week in the past has seen aberrations like abrupt firing near police pickets, abduction of any big person, naxals’ taking out torch light procession and shouting anti government slogans etc.

The Commandant of 134 battalion of CRPF Anil Minz said the CRPF is ever ready to face any move of the naxals.

Sources said the Maoists prefer no internecine war with any splinter group like TPC, JPC, JJMP, PlFI in this week but if the offensive comes from the adversaries the Maoists react with all ferocity.
