The Maoists are now looking for space in Palamu, feels ASP (Operation) Kanhaiyya Singh. According to an official, the Maoists have almost lost ground in Chhatarpur and Bishrampur areas and are taking shelter on the border of Bihar. last night, the Maoists were staying at some distance away from lalgarha’s Jal Kourba, which is barely two kilometers from Bihar, but there too, the security forces reached and got them dispersed, though no exchange of fire took place with Maoists numbering 40 and led by Niteshji, informed police sources.

On being asked as to how the Maoists have shrunk base, the ASP (Ops) said, "In Bihar’s Dumarya, which touches Palamu there is the determined CoBRA force, which is a thorn in flesh for the Maoists. At Saraideeh under Palamu, there is the security post. It is upsetting all their plans. Further at Salaiyya, there is the company of the CRPF." The Maoists, who were so dispersed, were there to stop the construction work of two culverts there each of the estimated cost of Rs2.50 lakh.
