Peeved over the reports of alleged abduction of over 40 children from the villages of Gumla, lohardaga and latehar districts by the rebel groups in order to expand their cadre base, the CPI (Maoists) through a press release have rejected the allegations made by the police calling it a propaganda of the State Government in order to malign their image.
Self proclaimed Secretary of Koyal Shankh Zone Committee Dinbandhu further added that due to the increasing support base of the CPI (Maoist) the State Government is trying to malign their image in the public under an undeclared war launched against the Maoists. The police sources however, called it a packs of lies which is being done out of sheer frustration by the rebels. Reacting on the claims of killing only those who were working as police spies, lohardaga SP Mrityunjay Kumar questioned the rebels whether Govind Turi of Chainpur block was also a police spy who was shot by them.
Kumar also challenged the rebels to produce the children before the media and let them speak that they were with them out of their will and let the people know the fact.
