Banned CPI(Maoist) rebels beat one youth to death and injured another at Budha Pahad under Bhandariya police station recently. The deceased has been identified as Jitendra Kisan, 25, a resident of Khapari Mahua village under Bhandaria police station of the district. Injured Dilip Tirkey, a resident of village Khura, under Bhandariya police station is being treated at a local centre.
According to reports, on Saturday afternoon, the squad of zonal commander Mrityunjay reached Khapari Mahua village and abducted Jitendra from his house. Later, they also abducted Dilip from his home and took both of them hostage.
According to victim Dilip, on Sunday, Maoist called Dilip's brother Sandip, who runs a commander jeep. Maoists continued to beat Jitendra after tying his hand and demanded a police rifle continuously from two o'clock to five o'clock in the evening. Jitendra died due to ruthless beating by stick. Later, Maoists left him.
SDPO, Ranka, Manoj Kumar Mahato said that both were former Maoists supporters. Sandeep used to deliver ration and other materials to the Maoists at Budha Pahad.
