In charge DIG of police Palamu range Akhilesh Jha held meeting with SP Palamu Ajay Linda and SDPOs here. Sources said Jha’s meeting here with police officials is in context of the Maoists’ arson under Pipra police station where 13 vehicles parked at a stone crushing plant were torched.
Speaking to this correspondent Jha said, “Maoists’ days are numbered now. And these acts of arson at a time like this when country and state are all in great distress are again pushing common people to further sufferings which will make Maoists collapse under their own burden of sin and sedition.”
Jha terming Maoists’s acts as seditious said, “The economy is downhill. Employment is getting scarce. A poor man is battling for his life on a day to day basis and the Maoists set afire things.”
“Their base now stands eroding. Their access to people is getting choked. We with the help of people will be able to curb and contain Maoists in this range.” Jha said their senseless acts are seditious and he repeated it thrice saying the Maoists are doing sedition against the country and its people here.
Asked straight the Maoists strike as per their plan and design and retreat their way they decide while the police rush only after their acts of violence to which DIG used a simile drawn from today’s stock of sneezing and coughing saying “Do sneezing & coughing come with any signal in advance ?” Quite baffled by this simile this correspondent again asked him as to whether the Maoists are on any revival path to which Jha said “ We will curb them as people are no longer with them.”
Sources said Jha had been to Garhwa as well where he took stock of the situation in regard to multiple cases going positive for coronavirus there but all in good condition.
