Maoist Sahdev Singh Kherwar alias Binay Ji’s family has  surrendered to the police after their appeal for his surrender was made to him16 days ago. On December 13, a joint team of Palamu police and 134 battalion of CRPF had reached Sahdev’s native village Kundlipur and appealed him for surrender.

In the huge gathering wife of Sahdev, Yashoda was also there. SP, Palamu, Indrajeet Mahatha came on the mike and asked the Maoists to surrender. He spoke of relief measures. The SP also spoke of police action against those running away from law.

Sources said Yashoda knew police would be tough with her husband and she decided to get him ready for surrender and Yashoda won this battle quite sooner than expected.  In many cases Maoists have taken 15 to 20 months to come to law.

Yashoda went home and convinced her Maoist husband Sahdev to surrender and he could not say no to his wife. Sahdev and his wife knew harder days were for them as Sahdev was being wanted by CBI in a DFO murder case in Bihar. CBI had even chargesheeted him in this murder case number RC 4 (S) 2002 New Delhi.

CBI had declared Sahdev an absconder. It had also announced a reward of one lakh rupees on his head. Sahdev and Yashoda knew time was fast running for them and Sahdev took the best course by surrender said Youshouda.

Sahdev’s reward money is Rs 3.50 lakh. Out of this one lakh is from CBI. Sahdev got Rs 50,000 in cash today. His remaining Rs 2 lakh will be given to him in two financial years . It is now up to CBI to take a call on this one lakh reward money announced by it earlier.

CBI has been told of this surrender of its chargesheeted murder accused. Sahdev has two cases against him one in Bihar and the other in Jharkhand.

It was his Bihar case that CBI began to hound him . However Sahdev remained elusive since 2002 and finally on December 29 surrendered making the task for the CBI much easier now in the DFO Sanjay Singh’s murder case.

Sahdev said he was married to Maoist Kiran in 2004 but Kiran left him for Mahender Paswan and this made him a disjointed man and he left Maoist outfit in the year 2005 but knew the cases against him would not allow him to rest .

Ameet Kumar DC Palamu assured Yashoda and Sahedv of their son’s free education at a special school in Nawa Bazar ‘very soon’.

Yashoda came with a baby in her lap and her face had a sense of satisfaction that her husband has now got an address central jail Daltonganj.
